Announcements for Thursday:
- 12pm-8pm: Store Hours for walk-in's, shopping, card readings, etc.
Happy Thursday, Sault Ste. Marie! What's in the cards? Let's take a look! Following the Millennium Clock, today is marked by the union of the 6 of Spades and 8 of Hearts who reply to the question,
Would you rather
Always say everything on your mind, or
Never speak again?
Wouldn't that be hilarious to always say what's on my mind? Nobody could say anything to me about it, either - I mean, you wouldn't get angry at somebody with Tourette syndrome - it's a neurological disorder and outside of being medicated into a zombie, there's nothing to be done for it. I'd be home-free to say exactly what I think about the rude neighbors, my mother-in-law's cooking, and the wisdom (or absence of wisdom) of whichever political party is the subject of discussion. Wouldn't that be liberating? The freedom to say exactly what you think...
... but then, I suppose, it would also be the cause of tremendous social isolation. After all, who'd want to share secrets with me when they know I'd be compelled to tell them to anybody I met? My social experience would be limited to the hello's, the weather, and good-bye's. And there's a certain kind of wisdom and perspective that comes from keeping one's mouth shut and effectively refusing to participate in the daily circus. How much peace and self-quiet might I achieve absent the pressure to contribute and have a say in what's going on around me? Certainly I'll still have my opinions, but I think in the long run it would be better to keep my own counsel and retain my wisdom for myself.
