What a delicious question - said differently, would I rather be surprised by myself, or would I rather be surprised by other people? At my heart, I'm really a safety- and security-conscious person, so I'd rather forget everybody else. True enough, that'll mean I'll forget about the people who've taken advantage of me in the past or who can't be trusted to be sensible, but in the end, I think it makes more sense to have all my experience, wisdom, skills, knowledge, and abilities intact to help me through a million new-to-me first impressions than I would to have no idea of who, what, where, when, and even why I am, and then have to trust in the kindness of strangers to get me through.
