Would you rather be stuck in a house with someone you hate,
or stuck in a house alone?
It's not that I'm a control freak, it's that... well, I am a control freak. I would much rather be stuck in a house alone than with somebody I hate because it means I can totally control my environment. No unwelcome surprises, no disagreements about what to cook or whose job it is to clean the bathroom - everything just gets done quickly and easily. I can stay on my own schedule, live in my own routines, and keep everything the same day in and day out...
... but then, I suppose that even I could get bored of that after a while. I mean, even with somebody I hated, I know we'd eventually develop a rapport. Days would come when one or the other of us would get sick. Would I hate that person so much that I would refuse his or her calls for help? Would I hate that person so much that I would refuse his or her help when I needed it? Even the intolerable become tolerable when no other option is available, and the social creature that I am, I'd probably go looney-tunes inside of a year living by myself.
