Announcements for Tuesday:
- 12pm-8pm: Store hours for walk-in's
Happy Tuesday, Sault Ste. Marie! Did you have a good weekend? Did you get Monday out of the way without committing any indictable offenses? All joking aside, welcome back to the week. Let's get our Tuesday started with free Tarot reading! Following the Millennium Clock, today is marked by the union of the 4's of Clubs and Spades who respond to the hypothetical question,
Would you rather
Have your personal diary (warts and all!) published for mass distribution,
or
Have the single most embarrassing moment of your life
made into a full-length motion picture?
Not a moment's hesitation: I own my mistakes, and if I'm going to have my dirty laundry aired to the world, I'm going to do it in style with a red-carpet, Hollywood forensic exploration of the most fantastically embarrassing moment of my life. Go big or go home, right? My logic here is that publishing a book just invites unending discussion of the minutiae and nuance in my every word, but I'd rather say one thing loudly and definitively than to have an entire book of unanswered questions and introspective meandering.
And whether I make a book or a movie, I think it's safe to say that it'd be well forgotten inside of two years. At the rate mass media is produced, even blockbuster, widely loved books and movies struggle to be remembered and stay relevant. Of course, of all the people who'll forget a movie about my most embarrassing or shameful moment, the one person who'll never forget is me. I still have to live with myself and what I've done (or haven't done.) Will I proudly wallow in the mistakes of my past? Or will I learn from them and live a less interesting but more peaceful life? Time will tell.
