Happy Thursday, Sault Ste. Marie! All this beautiful weather, what's a person to do with it? Since it's a weekday, I suppose you'll have to admire the nice weather while you work and hope it lasts through the weekend. I'd offer a prediction on the weather, but the meteorologists do it better than me. But I've still got one up on them, since they're not very good at reading Tarot cards and predicting anything outside of the weather! And with that in mind, let's get into today's free Tarot reading, in which I use a pair of Tarot cards to provide a hypothetical answer to an equally hypothetical question. Today we're asking:
What do you miss most about being a kid?
In answer to this question, the 6 and 3 of Hearts reply: Wow, what memories. There were fun trips to amusement parks and plenty of video games, but what I miss most isn't really a place or a thing, but a feeling: the feeling of not being bound by circumstances, of knowing that there are very real dangers in the world, but because of my parents' diligence, also knowing that they wouldn't affect me. I only had to worry about myself, and whatever happened, I could leave it behind me because it wasn't my job to tear it down or clean it up...
... of course, there's a reason I left my childhood behind, and it wasn't just because my body grew up: it's because my heart and mind grew up, too. The life of a child lacks perspective, and to enjoy all the pleasures life has to offer I had to look after more than myself, accept problems that I didn't create, and acknowledge that - despite all efforts to the contrary - sometimes I can't change the way things are.
