Today marks the union of the Ace of Spades and 4 of Clubs who teach the lesson that an appropriate teacher-student relationship can help the student grow and develop in healthy, long-term patterns. This union says that teachers and mentors are best when they offer their advice and input without judgement or restrictions and limitations - in effect, giving the student room to move and learn lessons through practical experience and minimal oversight. It also says that the best students are those who work out and apply the principles taught to them in order to achieve their goals and climb the ladder of life. This lesson is encapsulated in the words of the Three Initiates who wrote the Kybalion, saying:
If you are a true student, you will be able to work out and apply these Laws – if not, then you must develop yourself into one, for otherwise the Hermetic Teachings will be as "words, words, words" to you. –The Three Initiates
